Austin ISD is thrilled to announce our official acceptance into the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) through the Texas Education Agency. TIA was created by the Texas Legislature as part of House Bill 3 to provide a pathway for top-performing teachers to earn higher salaries and help districts attract and retain highly effective teachers.

Austin ISD is carefully monitoring the ongoing spread of Measles throughout the state and in neighboring communities.
Why it matters: Measles is an airborne, extremely infectious and potentially severe rash illness. While it was declared eliminated in the United States in 2000, Texas has seen a surge of cases in recent months.
Where we stand: No active measles cases have been reported in the City of Austin since December 2019.*
Our teachers will now have opportunities to benefit from this state program, which rewards top-performing teachers with higher salaries, helping attract and retain incredible talent. In Austin ISD, recognizing and compensating our teachers is a huge part of our mission, vision, and values.
How it works: TIA designates high-performing teachers as Recognized, Exemplary, or Master based on appraisal and student growth data submitted by Austin ISD.
