The current health crisis has changed every facet of our world—including how we educate students. We are incredibly proud of our families and staff for the innovation, adaptability and resourcefulness that has been shown throughout this crisis. The virtual ceremony will showcase many of the same things as traditional graduation ceremonies including speeches from the principal, superintendent, valedictorian and salutatorian.

Monday, June 15
This summer, Austin ISD will provide meals to any child under the age of 19 at more than 70 locations throughout Austin.
This summer, Austin ISD will provide meals to any child under the age of 19 at more than 70 locations throughout Austin.
Both breakfast and lunch will be offered Monday through Friday at the curbside and bus stop meal sites established during campus closures due to COVID-19 precautions. Weekend meal packs will be served each Friday, providing breakfast and lunch meals for Saturday and Sunday.
Beginning June 1, curbside meal sites will be open at an earlier time, moving service to 9–11 a.m. Adjustments will also be made to the bus stop meal delivery schedule.

All Austin ISD meal sites will be closed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 25.
To provide food for the long weekend, children and caregivers will receive two breakfast and lunch meals on Thursday, May 21 and Friday, May 22. AISD Food Services recommends families bring a bag to transport meals home safely.
All AISD offices will also be closed May 25 with regular business hours resuming Tuesday, May 26.
The Austin ISD Board of Trustees approved new principal appointments for Houston and Langford elementary schools at its May 18 regular voting meeting.
Houston Elementary School
The board appointed Alberto Alonso to serve as the principal of Houston Elementary School.
