Austin ISD needs the public's input as the district continues to update its Facility Master Plan. During upcoming meetings, AISD will present the Facilities and Bond Planning Advisory Committee's update and receive feedback from the public.
Austin ISD will honor the heritage of African-Americans and their legacies throughout the school district at the 34th Annual African-American Heritage Celebration.
This year's theme, "Urban Education 2.0: Creating Future Leaders,” celebrates students for their academic success, highlights winners of the districtwide essay competition and honors community leaders and stakeholders with awards in giving, educational leadership, volunteer service, distinguished service and others.
This year's program will feature entertainment from Anderson High School.
The Latino Academic Achievement Awards recognizes students in grades 7–12 for outstanding achievement in the areas of leadership, academics, English as a Second Language and dual-language programs, fine arts and athletics.
More than 300 students will be recognized, representing all AISD middle and high schools. We will also present the Latino Parent Volunteer Award, the Latino Community Service Award and the Latino Excellence in Advocacy Award.
