Do you have a student who is motivated by the arts? Would you like to see him or her attend an academically challenging school with other kids who love the arts? If so, McCallum High School’s Fine Arts Academy is for you!
On Tuesday, September 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the MAC Theatre on campus, prospective students and their families are invited to attend McCallum Fine Art Academy’s Showcase 2016. The evening will include performances and presentations by each of the arts strands: band, choir, dance, film, guitar, musical theatre, orchestra, piano, and visual art.
The McCallum Fine Arts Academy offers students from across AISD the opportunity to pursue an accelerated curriculum as fine arts majors in an inclusive public school setting. This outstanding program regularly earns state, national and even international recognition on behalf of AISD.

Austin ISD celebrataes the second year of partnering with Marathon Kids to encourage students to incorporate physical activity into every day.
Through the collaboration, AISD elementary school teachers will use the Marathon Kids research-based curriculum during daily Working Out for Wellness time.
During the course of the year, students will be encouraged to run or walk the equivalent of four marathons in 10-minute daily increments. For each marathon completed, students receive Nike rewards.

Join us at Travis Early College High School on September 28 from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. for a free event open to all special education parents. The goal is to connect you and your child to district resources.
Multiple agencies will be represented and Spanish interpretation provided.
