Congrats, LBJ and LASA Class of 2016 Graduates

Families and friends filled the seats at the Frank Erwin Center this afternoon to celebrate the Jaguars' classes of 2016.

LBJ Early College High School and the Liberal Arts and Science Academy graduated more than 350 seniors, collectively.

Cynthia Jaimes Ramirez, LBJ ECHS salutatorian, acknowledged the hard work she and eight fellow graduates underwent to graduate with both their high school diplomas and associate degrees from Austin Community College.

More than 350 Knights Cross the Stage at McCallum Graduation

Congratulations to the Knights’ class of 2016 for reaching new heights while continuing their school’s proud tradition of academic excellence and success in fine arts.

The McCallum students in the Peer Assisted Leadership program mentored 144 students at six middle and elementary schools.

Students took more than 781 AP exams this year, and the school’s journalism program earned 53 awards at the Interscholastic League Press Conference Spring Convention.

Valedictorian Haley Hegefeld reflected on the normal daily moments that made McCallum High School special.

Garza Celebrates 70 Graduating Griffins

Garza Independence High School celebrated 70 graduates on Wednesday evening. 

The school's namesake, Gonzalo Garza, addressed the graduates and their friends and families at the Frank Erwin Center.

"Congratulations on your great success," he said. "You are graduating from the best high school in Texas." 

Garza seniors were accepted to more than 30 four-year colleges, and the chess team won first place in the JV Division Texas Scholastic Chess Championships.

Congratulations to all the Garza Griffins in the Class of 2016! 

Reagan Early College High School Honors Class of 2016

The Reagan Early College High School Class of 2016 graduated more than 250 seniors in a ceremony this evening at the Frank Erwin Center.

The class of 2016 included one three-year college graduate and 11 who earned associate degrees from Austin Community College.

This is the second year Reagan students have had the opportunity to earn an associate degree as part of the Early College High School program, and the 2016 Reagan Raiders earned 1,428 college credits!

Ann Richards School Celebrates 89 Young Women Leaders

The Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders graduated 89 seniors at the Frank Erwin Center. This is the school’s fourth graduating class. 

One hundred percent of seniors graduated and 100 percent of the graduates were accepted and are headed to college.

"Being with you for the past seven years has taught me what sisterhood truly is," the school's salutatorian told her classmates.

This graduating class earned $13 million in merit-based scholarships. The class of 2016 also contributed thousands of hours of service to the Austin community.
