Pre-K Registration Day

Parents and guardians of prekindergarten students are invited to visit an Austin ISD Pre-K and register their children today!

To register, families should bring:

  • Current paycheck stub
  • Proof of residence, such as a gas or electric bill
  • Official birth certificate or equivalent
  • Up-to-date immunization record
  • Parent/guardian photo ID

AISD Offers Free Meals at Neighborhood Schools Throughout Summer

Children need nutritious meals to learn, grow and thrive—even when school is out. 

Through the Summer Food Service Program, Austin ISD will continue to serve free breakfast and lunch to local children and teens 18 and younger, regardless of economic status and whether or not the child attends AISD. Participants enjoy meals without any registration or identification requirements. Kids simply show up at a participating site to receive a healthy meal. 

AISD Board of Trustees Approves New Principal Appointments

Correction: Corrine Saenz taught in Sheldon ISD at Sheldon Elementary, Sheldon Intermediate and C.E. King Middle schools and was a counselor in Grand Prarie ISD, Saenz did not teach in GPISD

On Monday, June 20, Austin ISD's Board of Trustees approved the appointments of six new AISD principals. 

Anderson High School

Sammi Harrison was appointed as the leader of Anderson High School. 

Austin ISD Board of Trustees Approves New District Administrators

On June 20, Austin ISD's Board of Trustees approved appointments to the roles of chief human capital officer, associate superintendent for high schools and associate superintendent of area 1 elementary schools.

Chief Human Capital Officer

Fernando Medina was selected as the new chief human capital officer, having most recently served as assistant superintendent of human resources in Richardson ISD.

Austin ISD's Facilities and Bond Planning Advisory Committee (FABPAC) will meet from 6:15–8:45 p.m. July 14 in the multipurpose room of the district's Performing Art Center, 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd.

The Austin ISD Board of Trustees appoints citizens to the FABPAC to evaluate capital improvement needs of the district and to provide recommendations to the board on long-range facilities planning, on amendments to the Facility Master Plan and on the scope of work and timing of future bond programs.

All regular meetings of AISD advisory bodies are open to the public.

To speak before a district advisory body during a regular meeting, please consult the Citizens Communications and Visitor Guidelines, which can be found on the AISD website under Advisory Bodies (http://www.austinisd.org/advisory-bodies.) Citizens Communication is limited to 10 minutes.

W. K. Kellogg Foundation Awards AISD $1.75 Million to Continue Community Engagement in Rundberg Area

Over the next three years, AISD plans to expand initiative to more schools

 

The W. K. Kellogg Foundation has awarded Austin ISD $1.75 million to build upon the lessons the district learned during the planning initiative to deepen and expand parent engagement.

The Kellogg Foundation grant supports training to build parent leadership and address school and community issues that are barriers to success.

Mandatory Training: AISD Retires Workforce, Finance Systems. Are you Ready for BOLT?

Mandatory training for AISD’s new Business Operations for Learning and Teaching—BOLT—is underway.

The new system, which integrates the district’s human capital and finance applications, rolls out July 1. Will you be ready?

All AISD Employees: BOLT includes a self-service module to manage time and review payroll and compensation statements.
