We're calling this process Imagine Northeast Austin, and we want to get your input to help us answer several questions:
AISD was recently recognized as one of the top top five large districts in Texas by Children at Risk for going above and beyond what is required to ensure students have access to meals before, during and after school.
Children at Risk, a program focused on improving the quality of life for children, used data from the Texas Department of Agriculture to conduct the evaluation.

Austin ISD will honor the heritage of African-Americans and their legacies throughout the school district at the 33rd Annual African-American Heritage Celebration.
This year's theme, "Equality for All," celebrates students for their academic success, highlights winners of a districtwide essay competition, and honors community leaders and stakeholders with awards in giving, educational leadership, volunteer service, distinguished service and others.
This year's program will feature entertainment from Lanier High School.

Austin ISD and the Austin Area Alliance of Black School Educators have partnered to host Student With a Graduation Goal, a one-day college information event for juniors and seniors and their families.
Participants can get information at a college and community fair, and can attend sessions on topics including:
Today, AISD rolls out Business Operations for Learning and Teaching—BOLT. The district's new finance and human capital system will streamline payroll, benefits and time and attendance applications. It replaces Workforce and IFAS, which the district has used for the past 15 years.
Mandatory training for BOLT is underway for all employees.
Austin ISD is celebrating the grand opening of the new Applied Technology Center at Anderson High School with a ribbon cutting and breakfast from the Nacho Average Food Truck.
This joint project between Austin ISD, the Boys Scouts of America and a community donor will benefit students throughout the district.
