Walk Against Hate at Metz ES

Metz Elementary School students, parents, faculty and staff are joining together in a Walk Against Hate.

Participants will walk around the school and convene at the front of Metz for a short presentation. Walkers will wear a Metz shirt or white T-shirt to show support of diversity, peace, tolerance, love and acceptance.

The walk—part of Austin ISD's No Place for Hate Initiative—begins at 8:15 a.m. March 11 at the school, 84 Robert Martinez Jr. For more information, please contact Laura Ferrer at (512) 414-4408.

AISD Celebrates Youth Art Month

In celebration of Youth Art Month, student artists will have their masterpieces on display at schools throughout the district during March.  

Brentwood Elementary School kicks things off with an Encore Night on March 8, highlighting special programs in art, music, P.E. and more. The event will include an art walk featuring student art from all grade levels, interactive activities and a used book sale.

AISD Invites Realtors to Tour Campuses in the LBJ Early College High School Family of Schools

Realtors will be riding an AISD school bus to visit four schools in east Austin to learn more about their academic programming, all to give Realtors a better idea of neighborhood schools in areas they may sell homes.
 
The visit includes LBJ Early College High School, Gus Garcia Young Men's Leadership Academy, Bertha Sadler Means Young Women's Leadership Academy and Blanton Elementary School.
