Community Invited to Attend Meetings on Extending Dual Language Programs to Middle School
AISD is hosting two meetings this month to provide families with more information about the district's dual language programs. During the presentations, families will learn about AISD's efforts to extend the program to the middle school level. Additionally, experts in the field of dual language education, doctors Virginia Collier and Wayne Thomas, will share information from their award-winning national research that explains how schools can be most effectively engage linguistically and culturally diverse students.

AUSTIN, Texas--Austin ISD's Office of Facilities will host a community-wide meeting about the purpose of the district's Facility Master Plan from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at LBJ High School cafeteria, 7309 Lazy Creek Drive.
Team members will provide a snapshot of the district's profile and financials and review the board-approved Facility Master Plan's guiding principles.
Akins High School Competes in F1 in Schools World Finals
AUSTIN, Texas--This week, W. Charles Akins H.S. T-STEM Academy's TALON Racing, in conjunction with Axium Racing from Granbury High School, will compete as one team, Lone Star Racing, at the SAE/Formula One F1 in Schools Technology Challenge World Finals 2013.
