School Choice Fair

The AISD School Choice Fair is held yearly to allow students and parents the opportunity to explore the various programs offered at these specific middle school campuses. Representatives from the Ann Richards School, Fulmore Magnet School, Kealing Magnet School and the new Single-gender Schools in District One, Garcia/Pearce will be on hand to answer questions and showcase their campus programs.

This School Choice Fair is will be held Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Gymnasium at Fulmore Middle School, 201 Mary St E, Austin. This event is open to the public. 

AISD Invites Community to Inform, Help Shape Long-term District Plans

AUSTIN, Texas--Austin ISD's Office of Facilities will host a community-wide meeting about the purpose of the district's Facility Master Plan from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the LBJ High School theater, 7309 Lazy Creek Drive.

Team members will provide a snapshot of the district's profile and financials and review the board-approved Facility Master Plan's guiding principles.

Austin-Area Students K-12 Rally for Pre-Thanksgiving Donation Drive

Austin, Texas – November 19, 2013 – A Legacy of Giving, a local nonprofit that teaches children the value of philanthropy as part of their school curriculum, will hold its fifth annual Day of Service event for participating Austin-area elementary– through– high school students on Tuesday, Nov. 26. Day of Service is the official culmination of a student-led food and clothing drive currently taking place on 36 participating school campuses. The drive will benefit the Capital Area Food Bank and Coats for Kids.

Media Advisory: Girlstart and AISD Announce New Program for Computer Science Funded by $100,000 Grant

AUSTIN, Texas—Girlstart and Austin Independent School District announced a new program to promote computer science education with girls on Tuesday. The program, which will supplement current Girlstart After School STEM programming, is the result of a $100,000 grant from Google. Seven AISD schools will participate in this new program, which will reach a total of 105 to 140 girls (about 15-20 girls per school).
