Kindergarten Roundup Offers Families Opportunity to Register AISD Students at Neighborhood Schools

AUSTIN, TX—The Austin Independent School District’s Kindergarten Roundup, which includes registration and orientation, will be held at neighborhood schools for all children who are five years old on or before Sept. 1.

Six AISD Students Advance to International Science and Engineering Fair

Austin, Texas—This month, six students from the Austin Independent School District will join more than 1,500 young science and engineering enthusiasts from across the globe at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, the world’s largest pre-college science competition.

The students representing AISD at the competition, with projects covering diverse topics, including engineering, microbiology, and cellular and molecular biology, are:

Bedichek Junior Marine Corps Earn National Spirit Award

The students in Bedichek Middle School’s Junior Marine Corps are walking a little taller these days after earning the spirit award at the 2013 National Middle School Drill Team Championships in Forth Worth recently.

Approximately 30 schools competed in the championship competition last month, hoping to earn top recognitions for their drill team and color guard presentations, but the spirit award is one of the most coveted honors at the competition.
