Dear Austin ISD families,

Austin ISD is open for learning on Sept. 8, and we are excited to see our students and staff again, virtually or otherwise. With all of the input we received from our community and task force in mind, our staff has been working hard on how this year is going to look.

We’ve put together a detailed Reopening Plan for you outlining everything from the academic year to campus operations to teacher and employee support. You’ll see how safety protocols encompass the whole district while some things, such as arrival and dismissal procedures, will be determined by each campus.

While this is the plan right now, we cannot guarantee specific points will stay the same. We will continue to follow guidelines from local, state and federal governing bodies in order to make the best decisions to keep our students, staff and families safe.

Thank you for making Austin ISD your home, and for your support as we work to make each day of the 2020–21 school year an equitable, rigorous and engaging learning experience.

El Austin ISD estará abierto para el aprendizaje el 8 de septiembre, y estamos emocionados de ver a nuestros estudiantes y personal de nuevo, virtualmente o de cualquier otra manera. Tomando en cuenta todos los comentarios que recibimos de nuestra comunidad y del equipo especial, nuestro personal ha estado trabajando duro en cómo será este año.

Hemos elaborado un plan de reapertura detallado para ustedes, que describe todo, desde el ciclo académico hasta las operaciones escolares y el apoyo a maestros y empleados. Verán cómo los protocolos de seguridad abarcan todo el distrito, mientras que algunas cosas, como los procedimientos de llegada y salida, las determinará cada plantel.

Aunque este es el plan por ahora, no podemos garantizar que puntos específicos permanezcan igual. Continuaremos siguiendo las pautas de los cuerpos gobernantes locales, estatales y federales para tomar las mejores decisiones y así mantener seguros a nuestros estudiantes, personal y familias.
