Austin High School Band to Start 2018 with a Bang

This morning, Lord Mayor of the City of Westminster Steve Summers officially invited the Austin High School Band to perform at London’s 2018 New Year’s Day Parade.

“We’re excited to represent our school, our town and our country,” said Austin High School Band Director Brian Frock.

The parade—which claims more than twice the number of participants than the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade—has about 670,000 in attendance each year and more than 300 million onlookers viewing the parade on TV.

City of Austin Mayor Pro Tem Kathie Tovo read a resolution that was signed by Mayor Steve Adler recognizing the school for its achievement.
