Educators to Collaborate with Software Developers to Improve Classroom Tech

This weekend, Austin ISD partners with EdSurge to host a technology for schools summit. The summit is an opportunity for Austin-area educators and administrators to network with software developers and give valuable input and feedback on existing and developing technology tools for the classroom.

The event is 8 a.m.–3 p.m. Sept. 30–Oct. 1 at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center

Sept. 30: Ed Leader Workshop on Emerging Tech Trends

Who should attend: superintendents, directors of curriculum, instruction or technology and individuals who play a role in selecting and implementing instructional technology

  • Engage in small group sessions with leading edtech companies selected based on district priorities.
  • Take part in thoughtful conversations around issues such as data management, evaluating technology and building partnerships.

Oct. 1: Educator Day

Who should attend: teachers, technology coordinators and administrators

  • "Ignite Talks" will feature teachers who, in five minutes and 20 slides, will talk about how they use technology in their instruction.
  • A student panel will discuss experiences with educational technology in the classroom.
