2016 Vision+Voice Student Poetry Contest Seeking Submissions

Calling all poets! The third annual Vision+Voice student poetry contest is seeking your submissions.

Vision+Voice is a partnership between Austin ISD and the Department of Arts and Humanities at Austin Community College.

A panel of published poets will select one winning poem per grade and one for languages other than English at the elementary and secondary levels.

Winning poems will be paired with artwork by an ACC student and be made into posters to be displayed throughout Austin. A reception will be held in September to celebrate the V+V participants.

All submitted poems will be published online via Voiceprint, the Austin ISD digital press. Poems of all languages are accepted.

The deadline for submissions is April 16, and winners will be announced May 1. Poems may be submitted online

Parent permission forms can be found on the Voiceprint website and can be uploaded online or sent via campus mail to Claire Hagen Alvarado, administrative supervisor of Language Arts.

If you have any questions, please contact Claire Hagen Alvarado at 512-414-4723 or claire.hagenalvarado@austinisd.org.
