Beginning June 22 and ending Aug. 14, Austin ISD will operate on a summer efficiency schedule.
The program is design to reduce energy costs, and in 2014, saved the district about $716,000.
All schools and offices adopt a four-day week during this time. Business hours will be 7 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday–Thursday. All district and campus offices will be closed on Fridays.
The district also will be closed for one week, from Monday, June 29, through Friday, July 3. All AISD offices and schools will be closed during this period.
AISD's regular, five-day workweek will resume Monday, Aug. 17. Classes for the 2015–16 school year will begin Monday, Aug. 24.
