Austin ISD is proud to recognize the AISD Police Department during National Police Week. 

Working around the clock, the AISD Police Department establishes a safe and secure environment for students to learn, grow and succeed inside and outside the classroom.  

The department is led by AISD Chief of Police Eric Mendez, who has served in law enforcement for 23 years.

Mendez holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice administration, a master’s degree in criminal justice leadership and management and a master peace officer certification.
