AISD, APIE to Honor Volunteers and Staff Members Through Celebrate and Salute Events

The Austin Independent School District invites staff members, families and community members to help celebrate district employees and volunteers who commit their time, talent and energy to help strengthen Austin schools.

AISD is teaming up with Austin Partners in Education to co-host two annual events dedicated to recognizing employees and volunteers.

The first event, Celebrate, is scheduled for April 30 and will honor the individuals, community groups and local businesses who have stepped up to ensure educational enrichment for all AISD students. Among the awards that will be presented to volunteers are PTA of the Year, Partner in Education Coordinator of the Year and APIE Business Partner of the Year. In addition, parent ambassadors, community organizations, school business partners and other volunteers will be honored.

The second event, Salute, is scheduled for May 14 and gives the community an opportunity to recognize some of AISD's most outstanding staff members. This year, the Teacher of the Year, Principal of the Year, Classified Staff of the Year, National Board Certified Teachers and Teachers of Promise will be recognized. In addition, for the first time, AISD’s Assistant Principal of the Year, Librarian of the Year and Counselor of the Year will be recognized.
