Austin ISD Board approves $1.63 billion general fund budget, reduces deficit (En español)
After significant cost reductions districtwide throughout the year, the Austin ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2025–26 budget with a $19.7 million deficit, — a steep reduction from the prior year adopted deficit. The details: This budget includes $ 1.63 billion in revenue, including $715.5 million in recapture and $939 million in operating expenses.

Introducing Early Bird Pre-K (En español)
Early birds get the worm, or in this case, a spot in the brand new Austin ISD Pre-K4 lottery. Why it matters: Historically, Austin ISD hasn’t opened up Pre-K until April 1 because of state regulations on free Pre-K eligibility. Students Across AISD Bring Summer Theatre Series to Life
Mamma Mia! Here we go again. The AISD Summer Theatre Series is back at the AISD Performing Arts Center. The series runs July 15-18 with productions “Still Life with Iris,” “Charlotte's Web,” and July 23-25 with “Mamma Mia!” The productions feature students in grades 5-12 from throughout the district as actors, dancers, and tech crew.
