AISD Latino Academic Achievement Awards 2020
Join us in honoring our outstanding Latino students in seventh through twelfth grade and leading community members at the Annual Latino Academic Achievement Awards Saturday, May 16 starting at 10:30 a.m. at AISD Performing Arts Center, 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd. Admission is free. COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic - Crockett Early College High School
UPDATED TIME: The free COVID-19 (Pfizer) vaccine clinic at Crockett Early College High School on Thursday, August 26 is now 4-7 p.m. We have a free COVID-19 (Pfizer) vaccine opportunity available for our AISD Community, all family members included, 12 years of age and older. This opportunity is being hosted by Code 4. Walk-ins are welcome, appointments are preferred.

Cultural Uni-tea: AISD Hosts 26 Uruguayan Teachers
Last week was one week of firsts for the 26 teachers visiting Austin ISD from Uruguay.Two who were visiting Pillow Elementary School said that, for the first time, they had flown in a plane, eaten tacos and drunk Dr Pepper.Each teacher in the two-week program stays with a host—an AISD teacher who volunteers to show them what Austin living is like, both at home and at work.
Austin ISD Closed for Winter Break
All Austin ISD office and campuses are closed Dec. 21–Jan. 1. Staff return Jan. 2 and all students except those at the Ann Richards School return Jan. 7. Jan. 3–4 are student holidays/additional professional development days for all campuses except the Ann Richards School. Students at Ann Richards return to class Jan. 3.
Wi-Fi Buses Recognized With State-Level Award
Austin ISD has received an award for providing Wi-Fi buses to the community during the early days of the pandemic. The Texas Association of School Boards Risk Management award recognizes school districts who try to mitigate risks to student or staff safety.
