AISD to Provide Free Meals During Spring Break / El AISD proporcionará comidas gratuitas durante las vacaciones de primavera
AISD will partner with the Central Texas Food Bank to provide access to healthy food while campuses are closed for spring break. AISD curbside meal sites will serve free seven-day meal packs prior to the break on Thursday, March 11. Families may pick up an additional seven-days worth of meals at the Food Bank’s mass distribution event:
Buford the Book Bus—Martin Middle School
Austin ISD's Buford the Book Bus will be giving out free books to Austin ISD students Pre-K to 12th grade.Join us at Martin Middle School 10–11:30 a.m. July 11 to get your free books, participate in an art activity, and learn how to access and download AISD digital resources and e-books.Buford says, "Stop the summer slide by reading all summer!"
AISD, City of Austin Partner to Prepare Students for the New School Year at 14th Annual Back to School Bash
Austin ISD and the City of Austin's Safe Routes to Schools will partner to emphasize safety at the 14th annual Back to School Bash on Aug. 3. The event, held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Road, brings thousands of families together to prepare students for the new school year.
City Recognizes AISD for Districtwide Recycling Practices
Keep Austin Beautiful has recognized Austin ISD as a leader in the goal of becoming a zero-waste city.This spring, Keep Austin Beautiful teamed up with Austin Resource Recovery to support the Austin Recycles Games, a competition from December to April initiated by Austin Resource Recovery as a way to increase recycling rates and help residents understand what is and is not recyclable.
