Every year, AISD joins school districts across the nation in celebrating National Teacher Appreciation Week. This year, Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6-10, and AISD invites families, staff and community members to help us celebrate the crucial role and essential contributions of AISD's more than 6,000 teachers and substitute teachers across the district.

City Recognizes AISD for Districtwide Recycling Practices
Keep Austin Beautiful has recognized Austin ISD as a leader in the goal of becoming a zero-waste city.This spring, Keep Austin Beautiful teamed up with Austin Resource Recovery to support the Austin Recycles Games, a competition from December to April initiated by Austin Resource Recovery as a way to increase recycling rates and help residents understand what is and is not recyclable.
