SHAC Meeting

By law, a majority of the members must be persons who are parents of students enrolled in the district and who are not employed by the district.

We are grateful to have you as part of our Austin ISD family. Our school board recognizes it has been a difficult back to school time for many in our community, and our hearts are with all who are suffering and struggling to make sense of recent events.
Board adopts priorities for upcoming legislative session (en Español)
On Nov. 21, the Austin ISD Board of Trustees adopted its 89th Legislative Session priorities, focusing on increased school funding and recapture reform. The priorities are organized into nine categories that also include safety and security, student support, teachers and accountability. Below are some key highlights:
Human Services Career Cluster
The Human Services Career Cluster focuses on preparing individuals for employment in career pathways that relate to families and human needs such as counseling and mental health services, family and community services, personal care services, and consumer services. This career cluster includes occupations ranging from community health workers to cosmetologists and nutritionists.
