Austin ISD Health Professions Program Could Bring More Students Opportunities in Health Careers
Austin ISD, in partnership with Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin and Austin Community College, today announced a proposal to launch a Health Professions Program. The program would prepare students for a career in health professions, and would accept applications from students districtwide. The program is dependent on the bond passing in November.
Health and Physical Education textbooks open to family review
Austin ISD families can review health and physical education textbooks and provide feedback via a survey. Why it matters: This is the first time in 14 years that the textbooks have been revised. It’s also the first time in 24 years that the state has revised what it requires us to teach (what they call the Texas Essential Knowlege and Skills, or TEKS).
