AISD Adopts Summer Efficiency Schedule for Six Weeks to Save Energy
Austin, Texas—The Austin Independent School District will adopt a summer efficiency schedule for six weeks to reduce energy costs from June 23 through Aug. 8. The district’s average savings from the summer efficiency program is about $486,000.All schools and offices will adopt a four-day week during this time. Bedichek Junior Marines Win National Championship
Hard work and a drive for excellence earned the Bedichek Junior Marines (right) three titles at the National Middle School Drill Championships in Dallas.Students received awards in: Armed Drill Team Exhibition, Unarmed Color Guard Performance and Unarmed Color Guard Overall. This was the first time the Bedichek Junior Marines have competed in this National Competition.
Austin Students Earn Awards at the Science and Engineering Fair
Nine Austin students from one middle school and two high schools have been chosen as finalists in the ExxonMobil Texas Science and Engineering Fair, held recently in San Antonio. The students, their category and division, and awards are as follows:
