Latino Academic Achievement Awards
The Latino Academic Achievement Awards recognizes Latino students and community members who have supported Austin Independent School District’s students, schools or district programs and promoted the Latino culture. The event will be held in person on Friday, April 21, beginning at 6:30 P.M. at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center, 1500 Barbara Jordan Blvd.

T.A. Brown Elementary School Awarded Prestigious LEED Green Building Certification
An Austin ISD school received top recognition for its design and construction that emphasized sustainability and environmental responsibility. On May 6, the U.S. Green Building Council announced that it has awarded T.A. Brown Elementary School the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold certification.
State in Sight: Bowie Softball Aims for Final Four
The Bowie High School softball team's one-run victory over Oak Ridge landed the Lady Bulldawgs two wins away from the state tournament. The team advanced to the regional finals with a 5-4 triumph."I believe it showed how much passion we have for the game," said senior infielder Meagan Ramos. "It also proves how close we are as a team and how bad we want to win each and every inning."
