Cunningham Elementary Teacher Named as Finalist for an Austin Under 40 Award

Dear Austin ISD community, To ensure the safety of our students and staff, all Austin ISD classes will be on a two hour delay Tuesday, Jan. 16. All district offices will also be on a two hour delay. All after-school and/or outdoor activities will be brought indoors according to our temperature guidelines.
AISD Superintendent Recognized as Outstanding Texan
Austin, TX— Tuesday, the Texas Legislative Black Caucus (TLBC) honored Dr. Meria Carstarphen, superintendent of the Austin Independent School District, with the Outstanding Texan Award for her dedication to improving education in the Austin community. Each year, TLBC selects a number of exceptional Texans from across the state to recognize them for their contributions to the Lone Star State.
CTE Spotlight: Blessing Okotie wants to make us well
Blessing Okotie’s goal is to pursue a career in which she can help her community. To achieve that goal she made the decision not to wait until she graduated from high school. Okotie is a senior at Navarro Early College High School, where she is working toward two certifications under the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. One of those programs is Health Science.

Austin ISD will be closed for Spring Break, March 13–17. All AISD offices and schools will be closed during this time. The district will resume regular business hours Monday, March 20.
