FMP Community-wide Meeting
AISD's Office of Facilities will host a community-wide meeting to inform the public about the purpose of the district's Facility Master Plan, which identifies the district's long term facilities needs. At the meeting, AISD staff will provide a snapshot of the district's profile and financials and review the board-approved Facility Master Plan's guiding principles.
Initiatives
Garden to Café AISD is taking an important leadership role in the school garden movement by partnering with students, community members, teachers and administrators to develop a Garden to Café program that extends the lessons learned in the garden to the school café. Garden to Café is about serving healthy, fresh, garden-grown foods to students through school meal programs.
U.S. News & World Report Ranks Five AISD High Schools Among Best in Nation
Five Austin ISD high schools are among the best in the nation, according to the 2017 U.S. News & World Report rankings.Four of the schools were among the top-ranked public high schools on the magazine's list in 2016. Austin ISD one step closer to permanent superintendent (En Español)
Interim Superintendent Matias Segura will step into the new year as the lone finalist for Austin ISD’s long-term superintendent position. The Austin ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to name Segura as the finalist during its Dec. 14 voting meeting.
