Board Approves Renaming of Norman to Norman-Sims Elementary School
The Austin ISD Board of Trustees at its May 18 Regular Voting Meeting approved the renaming of G.W. Norman Elementary School to Norman-Sims Elementary School. The renaming will go into effect for the 2020-21 school year.

Klein Family Provides $50,000 Donation for AISD Flood Victims

Internet Connectivity
Wireless Access for Austin ISD students and staff All Staff and students must connect to the “education” wireless network. District owned devices will not be permitted to connect to the AISD-GUEST network. If this is attempted, the new system will direct the user to join the “education” network. AISD credentials cannot be used for registration on the guest network.
Crockett Student Named Gates Millennium Scholarship Finalist
Adam Garibay, a senior at Crockett High School, has been informed that he is a Gates Millennium Scholars finalist. The Gates Millennium Scholars program will select 1,000 talented students from across the United States to receive a good-through-graduation scholarship, to use at any college or university of their choice.
Operation Reconnect - Dove Springs
Due to anticipated inclement weather through the weekend of June 5, Operation Reconnect - Dove Springs is rescheduled for June 26. Operation Reconnect is a door-to-door neighborhood walk to engage and recruit families back to Austin ISD schools. The focus of this event is schools in the Dove Springs neighborhood.
