AISD Graduation Rates Reach All-time High
AUSTIN, Texas—Graduation rates for the Austin Independent School District's Class of 2012 are at an all-time high at 82.5 percentage points, a 2.5 percentage point increase from the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency's recently released report on graduation and completion rates.

40th Annual Poetry Declamation
An annual event, hosted and organized by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, at The University of Texas at Austin, to invite all K-12 students in Austin and the surrounding area, including some of the farthest reaching communities of the state, to participate in a spanish-language poetry contest, and hold an awards ceremony with song and dance from locally performing artists.
AISD Athletics Promotes Domestic Violence Awareness
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Austin ISD Athletics is doing its part to promote safe and healthy relationships.In partnership with the Travis County Sheriff's Office, Texas Advocacy Project and SAFE, student athletes will be wearing purple ribbons to encourage others to stand up against dating and domestic violence.
