Six Austin ISD high schools are among the best in the nation, according to the 2016 U.S. News & World Report rankings.“Austin ISD has some of the best schools in the country. I am excited to see Austin schools continue to rank well in Texas and the nation,” Superintendent Paul Cruz said. “I’m proud of our staff and students for all the hard work they do in the classroom every day.”

On Monday, Austin ISD's Board of Trustees approved new principal appointments for Casey, Patton and Walnut Creek elementary schools and Burnet and Martin middle schools.
