Austin ISD Health Professions Program Could Bring More Students Opportunities in Health Careers
Austin ISD, in partnership with Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin and Austin Community College, today announced a proposal to launch a Health Professions Program. The program would prepare students for a career in health professions, and would accept applications from students districtwide. The program is dependent on the bond passing in November.
Student Registration Opens This Week
Parents are now able to register students online for the upcoming school year through the Austin ISD Parent Cloud or at any AISD campus. Registration is open for students within AISD's boundaries and for out-of-district transfers who apply to attend schools with availability.

O.Henry Middle School teacher, Michelle Brown has temporarily traded in her grade book for arctic gear -- traveling to Antarctica with the PolarTrec program. The eighth grade science teacher's travels are being documented online, allowing students, parents and fellow teachers to learn about her journey, as well as the work she is doing on two separate ecological projects.

Six Austin ISD high schools are among the best in the nation, according to the 2016 U.S. News & World Report rankings.“Austin ISD has some of the best schools in the country. I am excited to see Austin schools continue to rank well in Texas and the nation,” Superintendent Paul Cruz said. “I’m proud of our staff and students for all the hard work they do in the classroom every day.”
