Austin ISD Celebrates Grand Opening of New Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders
Today, Austin ISD and the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders celebrated the grand opening of the new modernized campus, built as part of the 2017 Bond Program. Students, staff and community members gathered to officially cut the ribbon on the new building, which has been open for learning since completion in January 2021.

Austin Ed Fund Grant Program
Austin Ed Fund is offering its Grant Program to support AISD schools. This grant program encourages teacher-led collaborative projects that focus on innovative teaching strategies that enhance learning and support the wellbeing of students, staff, and families.
Murchison Middle School Band Spring Concert
The Murchison Middle School band program presents its final concert of the year May 25 in the Anderson High School Performing Arts Center.This free event begins at 7 p.m., and is open to all students, parents and community members.Performing groups include the wind ensemble, symphonic band, concert bands and various small ensembles.
Repurposing Metz Elementary School
Overview Metz Elementary School is a 61,905 square foot school facility constructed in 1993 situated on a 5.79 acre site located in East Austin, bound by Anthony Street, Willow Street, Robert T. Martinez Jr. Street, and Garden Street. Metz closed after the 2019-2020 school year.
