Join us for this year's annual All-City Jazz Band Concert, featuring Don Braden and Austin ISD students from the Middle School and High School jazz bands. The event begins at 6:30 p.m., April 27 at the Austin ISD Performing Arts Center. Free and open to the public!

After receiving feedback from more than 20,000 parents, students, teachers and staff – and to offer some measure of stress relief during the pandemic – Austin ISD administration is proposing to close schools on two Fridays this spring. The Austin ISD Board of Trustees will consider this change to the official school calendar at their meeting on Thursday evening.
Special Education Family Advisory Committee
As of February 17, 2026, Austin ISD has successfully completed all requirements of the TEA Agreed Order (CDN # 227-901) and has been released from state oversight. AISD State of the District: Superintendent Highlights Strong Student Performance and Financial Stability
Austin, TX—Austin Independent School District Superintendent Meria Carstarphen focused on increased student academic performance and projected financial stability during the third annual State of the District address. More than 200 people attended the address at the new McCallum Arts Center, which was broadcast live on AISD Channel 22 and the district's website.
School Safety and Security Committee (SSSC) Meeting
The public can view the meeting on zoom (more details on the agenda). The districtwide School Safety and Security Committee must meet by law at least three times per year to discuss current concerns of the district as well as to inform security practices.
