After UIL Realignment, Austin ISD Teams Eye Another Successful Year
To keep up with enrollment shifts, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) does a realignment of its participating schools every two years. The new enrollment numbers determine a school’s classification (from 1A to 6A), which also means a potential shuffling of districts. 2016 is a realignment year, so there are some big changes for AISD schools.

Why it matters: Improved attendance is not only essential better academic outcomes, it’s also directly tied to how the state funds Austin ISD. AISD Doubles Capacity to Teach Prekindergarten for 3-Year-Old Students in 2016-17
