Thousands of Austin ISD students are staying warm this winter thanks to the "Coats for Kids" program. Why it matters: For more than a decade, The Junior League of Austin and its partners have generously provided thousands of coats to local students in need. This program provides relief to families during this time by giving free coats so children can stay warm this winter.

AISD to Provide Free Meals for All Students for 2021-22 School Year
When students step onto an Austin ISD campus in the 2021-22 school year, they can rest assured they’ll be able to get a healthy lunch at no cost. The United States Department of Agriculture announced on April 20 they are extending free meal benefits through June 2022, allowing Austin ISD to keep serving its free lunches.
