MEDIA ADVISORY Webb Middle School Students Perform at Free St. John’s Tree Lighting
Join the St. John’s community in a free, public holiday event featuring musical performances, face painting, crafts, snacks and Santa lighting a holiday tree.Who: United Way for Greater Austin, a local nonprofit and community service organization, is sponsoring this tree lighting with musical performances by Webb Middle School students.

AISD Revises 2013-14 School Calendar
Austin, TX—This week, the Austin Independent School District’s Board of Trustees voted to revise the 2013-14 school year calendar, moving spring break up one week to coincide with the University of Texas at Austin’s schedule.The district’s 2014 spring break is now scheduled from Monday, March 10, through Friday, March 14.There are no other changes to the calendar.
Austin ISD Health Professions Program Could Bring More Students Opportunities in Health Careers
Austin ISD, in partnership with Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin and Austin Community College, today announced a proposal to launch a Health Professions Program. The program would prepare students for a career in health professions, and would accept applications from students districtwide. The program is dependent on the bond passing in November.

Travis High School Celebrates Its Seniors
Nearly 300 Travis High School Rebels crossed the stage at the Frank Erwin Center to receive their diplomas June 5. AISD Celebrates Transportation Employees
Austin ISD is saying thank you to its transportation employees this week in commemoration of National School Bus Safety Week, October 17-21. This year’s theme is, “Be Aware – Know the Danger Zone!” Transportation employees were recognized on Monday, October 17 at 6:00 a.m. at the Saegert terminal and on Tuesday, October 18 at 6:00 a.m. at the Nelson terminal.
