AISD Shuts Down on Fridays During Summer to Save Energy, Cut Costs
Beginning this week and ending Aug. 14, Austin ISD will operate on a summer efficiency schedule.The program--which includes all district campuses being closed on Fridays--reduces energy, water and wastewater costs during the summer months. During the summer 2014 shutdown the district saved about $716,000.
