Back to School Bash 2015
Austin ISD, in collaboration with the City of Austin, is kicking off the 2015-16 school year with the annual Back to School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m.–noon at the Palmer Events Center. Last year, more than 7,500 people attended this event. Key services
Student's Barbecue Sauce Debuts Throughout District
Student lunches got a touch sweeter today with the debut of Carter Hull's BBQ Sauce to accompany barbecue items in all Austin ISD middle schools and high schools. MEDIA ADVISORY AISD to break ground on Career Launch addition at LBJ Early College High School
Austin ISD will break ground May 13 on an approximately 5,000-square-foot building to accommodate the new Career Launch program at LBJ Early College High School.The program, a partnership with Seton Healthcare Family and Austin Community College, allows students to earn an associate degree in health science, preparing them to further their education in the medical field.

Historic Property Tax Exemption Program ReviewHistorically, AISD has granted certain historical landmark properties partial exemption from taxation. In August 2005, the AISD Board of Trustees modified the program to tighten the exemptions to mirror the City of Austin’s 2004 program modifications.
