Austin ISD will host a live virtual engagement session to help answer what the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness will look like this year and why it is important for students to take it.

The STAAR assessment is one of the many ways AISD supports academic student growth. During the live session, district leaders will engage with the community on this important topic. The subjects of discussion include:

• Options available for families to take the STAAR assessment.
• Importance for a child to take the STAAR assessment.
• What the district is doing to make sure testing is as safe as possible.

What: District leaders will answer questions from a moderator and audience members via Facebook comments.

Who: Chief of Schools Anthony Mays and Carolyn Hanschen, executive director of accountability and assessment.

Where: Virtually via Facebook Live on the district’s Facebook page and AISD.TV.

When: 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9.

Families are encouraged to participate and ask questions they may have relating to the STAAR and End of Course exams.
