Rosedale School to Host Drive-By Parade to Celebrate Groundbreaking of Modernized School

The modernized Rosedale expected to open Spring 2022 

The Rosedale School community will celebrate the groundbreaking of its new school with a drive-by parade today. Rosedale will receive a $40 million modernized campus, funded through the $1.05 billion bond and thanks to Austin taxpayers.
 
Rosedale offers tailored educational opportunity and quality instruction for children with severe special needs, including children who are medically fragile or need intensive behavioral support. The modernized Rosedale will be built at the site of the former Lucy Read Pre-K.

When: Friday, September 18, 2020, 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
 
Where: 7505 Silvercrest Dr. Austin, TX 78756
 
Details: The parade line-up will take place at the south entrance of Beverly Sheffield Northwest District Park (6700 Shoal Creek Blvd. at the intersection of Park Dr.). The parade will drive by the site of the new school at 7505 Silvercrest Dr., where teachers and AISD staff will cheer students on to celebrate the groundbreaking. A video recap will be shared with the community following the event.
 
All families will remain in their own cars during the entirety of the parade and all staff will be wearing face masks. We ask all Rosedale, AISD staff, and participating community members to maintain social distance from those not within your own household. For the health and safety of all community members, please stay home from this event if you or someone you have recently come in contact with has tested positive for COVID-19.
