The AISD Afterschool Showcase will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, at Kealing Middle School, located at 1607 Pennsylvania Avenue.
The event will allow AISD after-school students to showcase their talents. The vision of AISD Afterschool is to make a positive difference in the life of students through learning, thriving, connecting, serving, and leading.
The goals of AISD Afterschool are to:
- Increase academic achievement and college readiness
- Increase work/career awareness and preparation
- Increase physical health and safety
- Increase interpersonal/social connections and well-being
- Increase civic and community engagement
AISD Afterschool provides after-school programs to more than 7,000 students attending 58 schools, including five high schools, 11 middle schools, and 42 elementary schools. AISD Afterschool collaborates with 41 youth-service organizations to provide high quality after school programs that are aligned with national and state Best Practices.
