Students in Anderson High School’s comedic One Act play, Moon Over Buffalo, were awarded the fourth place prize in the state UIL meet May 22 at the University of Texas at Austin's Bass Concert Hall. The students competed along with eight other 5A schools, and received a 4-4-5 ranking. Anderson's fourth place prize represents the best the school has performed in the state competition.

This is the first time since 1995 Anderson students have made it to this prestigious level of competition, and the sixth time in the history of the school. 

"We are so proud of our One Act play students for working hard, putting their hearts into their performances, and representing this campus and Austin ISD so well at the state level," said Anderson High School Principal Donna Houser. "I also congratulate Directors Bobby Malone and Katie Wilson who worked so hard to make this production successful."

Set in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1953, Moon Over Buffalo follows the story of Charlotte and George Hay, a middle-aged couple who dream of hitting it big while performing at a repertory theater. But when a famous director approaches the couple with the prospect of appearing in a movie, hilarious misunderstanding and madcap misadventures ensue.
