ConnectFEST 

ConnectFEST is a community event aimed at connecting families with educational programs, services, and support systems within our schools, and strengthening the bond between the community and Austin ISD. It's an opportunity to get involved with the Austin ISD community and enjoy activities, games, food and resources.

ConnectFest is free to the public with complimentary food and transportation.

  • Highlighting programs like P-Tech, CTE, and Dual Language at elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Basic Concepts Station

  • Learn key public education concepts like repurposing, recapture, school finance, and the impact of voting on education through fun activities.

Kids’ Station

  • Interactive activities and fun games for kids to learn about civic engagement and basic financial concepts.

Entertaining

Food Truck Station

  • Free meals from two different international food trucks and pizza slices for kids. Vegetarian options available.

Live Entertainment

  • Live entertainment from Austin ISD dance groups, marching band drumlines, children's choirs, and much more!

Resource Fair

  • Community booths with resources and services.

 

ConnectFest Volunteer Opportunities

Want to volunteer? Follow the steps below:

  1. Visit the volunteer website.
  2. To register, you must have a volunteer account.
  3. To create an account, please sign up. It only takes a few minutes!
  4. Once your account is set up, select "Find Opportunities" red button at the top left. Select "Schools" and then "AISD Community Engagement." From there, you'll find the "AISD Connect Fest Volunteers" opportunity to sign up.

First athletic field to kick off construction this spring, full construction schedule released (En español)

Ahead of football’s biggest game this weekend, we have some big news from the 2022 Bond as we lay the groundwork for the future of athletics in Austin ISD. 

  • LBJ and Northeast early college college high schools will be the first of many fields to be renovated with artificial turf. 

Let’s go back: As part of the 2022 Bond Program, Austin ISD comprehensive high schools will receive artificial turf and other athletic field improvements.

You Know It... Like A Poet

You Know It Like A Poet: Celebrating Black History Through Poetry 

Date: Friday, Feb. 21 

Time: 11 a.m. – Noon 

Location: Central Office Board Room 

Join us for powerful poems by famous Black Poets that explore African American history and culture. This event will be live-streamed and recorded for later viewing.

Ombuds and You: Working Together for the Success of All Students/El Ombudsman y Usted: Colaborando juntos para el Éxito de Todos los Estudiantes(English session with Spanish interpretation/Sesión en inglés con servicios de interpretación al español)

This session will help you understand the role of the Ombuds office in Austin ISD and how they can help students and families resolve issues and navigate the system.
