T.A. Brown Elementary School Site Dedication

Austin ISD welcomed students, staff and community members Aug. 29 to the site dedication for the new T.A. Brown Elementary School.

Students and families shared their excitement for the new site and students potted plants that will be located at the new school in the future.

As part of the Austin ISD Strategic Reinvention Program, T.A. Brown has been identified to be a “green living laboratory,” with hands-on learning opportunities to enhance STEM education and problem-solving learning.

AISD Student Partners with Camp Mabry for Eagle Scout Project

An Austin ISD student put skills acquired at Anderson and Lanier high schools to good use last May.

Luke Fuka, a member of Troop 5 Austin and student at both Lanier and Anderson High Schools, wanted to do something special to support the troops. When he approached TXARNG Natural Resource Manager Linda Brown and Garrison Commander Lt Col Mancuso at Camp Mabry he found an Eagle Scout project that would combine his welding skills and his love of the outdoors.
