Since becoming a District of Innovation, most AISD campuses have approved DOI plans allowing them to have additional days of professional development, which result in more holidays for students.

Being a District of Innovation provides an opportunity for each campus to have the flexibility to be exempt from or modify state requirements to better suit the needs of their students and to personalize learning.
