Austin ISD Offers Free Meals to All Children During Summer

Children need nutritious meals to learn, grow and thrive—even when school is not in session.

Through the Summer Food Service Program, Austin ISD will continue to serve free breakfast and lunch to local youth ages 18 and younger, regardless of economic status or whether the child attends AISD.

And new this year, Capital Metro is offering free bus rides to all K–12 students, giving children a safe, easy way to get to free meal sites.

Participants enjoy meals without any registration or identification requirements. Children may show up at any participating site to receive a healthy meal.

The Summer Food Service Program will be available at more than 40 AISD schools beginning early June.

Participating sites, program dates and meal service times are subject to change.
