AISD Event and Activity Cancelations Due to Weather

Friday

All out-of-district indoor and outdoor activities and events have been canceled for Friday, Dec. 6 due to inclement weather. Additionally, outdoor activities and events happening in-district have also been canceled for Friday.

All in-door in-district activities, however, will continue as scheduled. Families and staff members should continue to use caution when traveling to and from these indoor, in-district events, or stay home if you feel traveling poses a risk.

Bus drop-off times will resume as normally scheduled. However, rain may cause delays. If your child rides the bus and you would like to learn how specific bus routes may be affected, please call AISD’s transportation department before 4:45 p.m. at 512-414-0238.

At this time, there are no reports of power outages at any AISD facilities and campuses. 

Saturday

All out-of-district indoor and outdoor activities and events have been canceled for Saturday, Dec. 7 due to inclement weather. Additionally, outdoor activities and events happening in-district have also been canceled for Saturday.

All in-door in-district activities, however, will continue as scheduled. This includes the AISD  This includes several basketball games and SAT testing. Families and staff members should continue to use caution when traveling to and from these indoor, in-district events, or stay home if you feel traveling poses a risk.

Events that will continue as scheduled: 

  • AISD’s School Choice Fair from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 7, at Fulmore Middle School, will be held as regularly scheduled. 
  • The Bowie High School basketball tournament will continue as scheduled.

Below is a list of the events and activities that are affected by these cancelations:

  • The Allan Facility meeting scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7, has been recheduled to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Ortega Elementary School.
  • AISD's participation in out-of district tournaments in wrestling and basketball have been canceled. 

AISD continues to monitor the weather and will provide updates as needed on the district’s website, social media channels and through local media.
