Community Invited to Special Showcase to Learn About LASA

The parents, staff and students of AISD's Liberal Arts and Science Academy invite prospective students and their families to learn more about the prestigious academic magnet school during a special showcase event.

LASA emphasizes academic excellence and college preparation in the four core subject areas: math, science, language arts and social studies, and offers many interdisciplinary and signature electives. Students who attend LASA will graduate on the Distinguished Achievement Program—the most rigorous diploma offered by State Board of Education of Texas. LASA students also participate in many school activities that allow them to compete regularly at the state and national levels, thus granting them the skills and capacity to apply to and succeed at the nation's best colleges and universities. Through activities inside and outside of class, students are given opportunities to experience teamwork, leadership, and service. Whether an artist, musician, athlete or budding robotics engineer, students will find a place where they are welcome and accepted at LASA.

The showcase is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at LASA, 7309 Lazy Creek Drive.

Administrators, teachers, students and parents will be on-hand to provide information about the application process, curriculum, courses, college preparation, extracurricular activities, transportation, awards and other accolades. Learn why the Texas Education Agency has consistently rated LASA as an Exemplary campus, and why Newsweek ranks LASA as the No. 38 high school in the country.
