Ninety-eight Austin ISD Students Earn Recognition for Academic Performance

A total of 98 Austin ISD seniors were recognized for outstanding academic performance as U.S. Department of Education Candidates for U.S. Presidential Scholars, National Merit Finalists and Semifinalists, and College Board National Recognition Scholars. 

These recognitions are among the most distinguished honors a high school student can achieve and reflect outstanding academic accomplishment.

Neighborhood Meeting for the LASA move to Eastside


The district will host a virtual meeting to share information and answer questions about the LASA transition to the current Eastside Memorial Early College High School at the Johnston campus. In addition, this meeting will include information about the Eastside move, background information about LASA, and breakout sessions co-facilitated by LASA students and staff.

Austin ISD Transfer Deadline Extended to March 1 / Se extiende la fecha límite del Austin ISD para los traslados al 1.o de marzo

Austin ISD has extended the deadline for in-district priority transfers and in-district general transfers for lottery to March 1 due to the winter storm.

Please remember to sign up for a time slot at the rapid, mass COVID-19 testing event on this Friday, February 26 between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tests are FREE for AISD students and staff and administered via drive-thru. This mass testing event is available to ALL Austin ISD students and staff, which includes those who learn and work in-person and remotely.

Austin ISD Resumes Free, Weekly Meal Distribution

Austin ISD will resume its free, weekly meal distribution for children and their caregivers at 47 district sites on Thursday, Feb. 25.

Schools serving free curbside seven-day meal packs from 7-9 a.m. each Thursday: 

  • Blackshear Elementary
  • Crockett Early College High School
  • Garcia Young Men’s Leadership Academy
  • Oak Hill Elementary
  • Padron Elementary
  • Widen Elementary
